Grasslands
The January 2007 issue of the Bay Leaf has an article by Peter Rauch, a member of the East Bay Chapter of the California Native Plant Society (EBCNPS), on the need to assess the condition of East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) grassland habitats. EBCNPS would like to see increased focus on improving the EBRPD's extensive grasslands so as to further preserve and enhance its remnant native grassland plant populations. Below are pointers to some more documents explaining the East Bay Chapter's concerns in regard to management of Park grasslands.
The March 2007 issue of the Bay Leaf has an article by Peter Rauch and Laura Baker, "What's Your Opinion?" That article refers to
"Some Obstacles to Native Grassland Habitat Improvement" by Peter Rauch. Both of those papers were written on behalf of the Conservation Committee of EBCNPS.
The April 2007 Bay issue of the Bay Leaf has an article discussing what we mean by "Native(-like) Grasslands".
