Rare Plant and Ecosystem Priority Protection Areas
Looking NW from the alkali sink

EBCNPS has just received funding for an exciting project that has been in the works for a couple of years already.  In an effort to increase awareness and share information about rare and unusual plants and plant communities in the East Bay, we are creating a "Priority Protection Areas" guide that indicates areas that are known to have, or may have, rare plants and communities which are not under permanent protection from development or habitat alteration.  We hope the collaborative effort of this project with local agencies and city staff will help forward conservation efforts, while allowing for developers have access to current biological information.

 Please contact Lech Naumovich
at conservation@ebcnps.org, or rare plants botanist Heath Bartosh with any questions.
