Prices and Sales Practices
As of January, 2008
PRICES
Plant prices vary according to the size of the containers and the difficulty to grow or find the species. Plant prices are indicated by colored tags corresponding to a list posted in the nursery. In general, the lowest price is $5 for 4” plants or for grasses in D-pots. Gallon can sized plants are typically $8, with grasses selling for less, and some difficult to grow or find plants selling at $10 or even $13. Basic two gallon size is $13, basic five gallon size is $30.
Sales tax is included in the listed price.
If you have a resale number on file at the nursery, prices will be adjusted to exclude tax.
DISCOUNTS
A volume discount of 10% may be applied to any single purchase exceeding $200.
Professional restorationists, gardeners, and agencies:
15% off any single purchase up to $500.
25% off any single purchase over $500
SALES PRACTICES
Please examine plants before removing them from the nursery. We do not accept returns.
Plants may be picked up by appointment for a $25 special opening fee.
Plants held for pick-up later will be charged a holding fee of 5% of the order total per month.
CONTRACT PRACTICES
Native Here Nursery is operated almost entirely by volunteers. We are dedicated to growing locally native plants for appropriate restoration of East Bay sites. Our hours of operation are limited by volunteer availability, but you can count on the nursery to be staffed Friday and Saturday mornings, weather permitting.
We particularly welcome contract orders for site specific plant materials.
Plants will be grown and/or held to order under the following conditions:
- A 25% good faith deposit is received.
- Special sizes or flats of seedlings may be grown and a price negotiated.
- A firm date for acceptance of plant material is agreed upon. A holding fee of 5% of the purchase total will be charged per month beyond that date.
- Discount will be based on plants accepted.
- Plants are to be picked up when nursery is open or an opening fee will apply
- Plants may not be returned once they have been removed from nursery
- Native Here will grow plants at 60% of our container based price if you provide seed with verified local native collection information.
